Acosta shines as Junior Lady Altas make it four in a row

Outside hitter Sherrie Rose Acosta showed the way as University of Perpetual Help Junior Lady Altas diffused the Jose Rizal University Junior Lady Bombers, 25-18, 25-6, for their fourth straight win in the NCAA Season 101 Volleyball Fiesta at the Arellano Gym on Thursday, Feb. 11.

Acosta fired nine points all from the attack line while also getting ample help from the rest of the team with Elizha Sildo chipping in seven and Ramiel Panganiban adding six.

Jaja Monte anchored the attack with 13 excellent sets while impeccable on the defensive end was Janine Espiritu who registered 10 digs and four excellent receptions.

Khelly Zoleta led JRU with five points to no avail as the Kalentong based dropped to 0-4 slate.

On the men’s side, defending champion Junior Altas Spikers got back on the winning track with a 25-20, 25-11, 25-18 win over LPU – GenTri.

Team captain Gabriel Macatuno and Daryl Torio combined for 28 points with 15 and 13 points, respectively as Perpetual improved to a 4-1 record.
