San Miguel simply had its way offensively and dealt the hapless Titan Ultra a 41-point beating, 158-117, to extend its winning streak to five in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center Montalban on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
The Beermen tore the game apart in the first half with CJ Perez opening the floodgates after firing 24 of 26 his points through the first 24 minutes on their way to the masterful win that hiked their record to 5-2.
Perez actually started the scintillating display of firepower for SMB, drilling three fours and two treys in the first half just as June Mar Fajardo, Jericho Cruz and the rest of the Beermen followed suit offensively.
Fajardo recorded his first career triple-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in just three quarters while Cruz led the SMB bench mob with 24 points.
Don Trollano also fired 20 points while Jeron Teng had 15 points, Andreas Cahilig with 11, Mo Tautuaa and Kris Rosales with 10 apiece for the Beermen who led by as many as 50 points.
SMB even breached the century mark as early as the 6:40 mark of the third quarter en route to the league’s highest scoring output for a team at least for the history of the Philippine Cup.
Von Pessumal listed 21 points to lead the Giant Risers but most of it came when the outcome was seemingly already settled after the Beermen erected a huge 79-38 lead at the half.
Joshua Munzon added 20 points and Calvin Abueva also finished with 16 but were not enough as Titan Ultra dropped to a 2-5 slate.

Meanwhile, Phoenix came out guns blazing and torched Terrafirma en route to a dominant 107-97 victory that snapped a four-game slump.

Kai Ballungay set the tone to the hot start for the Fuel Masters, making his first six attempts on the field and then registering a double-double right at the opening quarter to lift his team back to the winning column.
Phoenix picked up its second win in seven games while Terrafirma found itself further down the standings after absorbing its fifth straight defeat for a 1-6 record.
The 6-foot-7 big man led the way with 19 points and 12 rebounds as Phoenix kept Terrafirma at bay in the middle quarters before completely tearing the game apart in the final frame behind a 23-8 quarter scoring.
Ricci Rivero had 16 points and six rebounds while Bryan Santos chipped in 12 built on four triples. Jason Perkins also had 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
The lopsided victory spoiled the first game together of brothers Maverick and Jerrick Ahanmisi.
The two, however, played poorly, only mustering a combined six points on 2-of-11 shooting from the field.
