Thirty-five individuals allegedly involved in anomalous flood control projects were placed on the Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla signed the ILBO, directing the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to monitor the movements of those listed and immediately alert authorities of any attempt to leave the country.

Remulla emphasized the urgency of the order, saying “Ang tendency ng tao, tumakas talaga.”

“At the earliest opportunity, tatakas ’yan,” he added.

The ILBO was issued following a request from Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon, who asked the DOJ to include in the bulletin those suspected of involvement in anomalous government flood control projects.

In his letter to the DOJ, Dizon stressed that “the timely issuance of an ILBO is of utmost necessity to enable current investigations to proceed without delay and hold those liable accountable to the Filipino people.”

He also urged the Bureau of Immigration to alert the DPWH and law enforcement authorities of any attempt by the concerned personalities to travel abroad. (with a report from Trixee Rosel)
