Kevin Quiambao may have failed in his first attempt but that was not enough to discourage the former La Salle star as he continued to pursue his US dream.
And to show that his desire remains intense, he recently shared photos of him suiting up in the Drew League – the notable pro-am summer event in the US.
“#notperfect,” Quiambao wrote on his Instagram post where he also had a photo with veteran big man Thaddeus Young.
Drew League was where basketball superstars once played including LeBron James, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Paul George, and DeMar DeRozan, to name a few.
Former NBA stars in Paul Pierce, Byron Scott, Baron Davis, and the late great Kobe Bryant also competed there.
The 24-year-old Quiambao has been in the States since earlier this month with an aim of landing a spot in the NBA Summer League. He fell short.
However, the two-time UAAP MVP took the time to maximize his trip there, joining training camps and meeting some NBA players and hopefuls along the way.
Quiambao is still under contract with the Goyang Sono Skygunners in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) which is on a break as of now.
The versatile forward vows to fulfill his national duties when Gilas Pilipinas vies in this year’s FIBA Asia Cup next month in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
