Gerald Anderson isn’t just flexing his action-drama chops in his teleserye comeback—he’s on a mission to make primetime educational and entertaining.
After a three-year hiatus, the 19-year showbiz veteran returns in ABS-CBN’s “Sins of the Father,” premiering June 23 (Monday), 9:30 PM on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, TV5, iWant, and TFC.
The show isn’t just about guns, grit, and dramatic monologues. Gerald stars as Samuel Trinidad, a bank manager whose life spirals into chaos after his estranged dad dies and leaves behind not just emotional baggage—but a whole scandalous scam legacy.

Daddy issues meet cybercrime? Welcome to 2025.
Gerald says the show fits right into his personal advocacy of using TV as more than just background noise. “Lagi kong nirerequest sa ABS na pag may proyekto ako ay sana may social awareness at sana may mapupulot na aral yung mga tao pag pinanood nila because maraming distractions these days. We have scamming, we have social media, everything,” he shared.

Backing Gerald’s awareness agenda is acclaimed director FM Reyes, who says the actor’s passion for social relevance isn’t just for press release purposes. “During moments of disasters, you can see him saving people. It comes out naturally,” Direk FM said, probably referencing Gerald’s real-life rescue efforts—because this guy apparently does his own stunts on and off screen – the possibility of contracting leptospirosis be damned.

Also part of the series is the returning Jessy Mendiola, who reunites with Gerald more than a decade after their “Budoy” days. “Ang dami nang nangyari sa mga buhay namin and I’m just really happy to be working with Gerald again,” Jessy said, likely not referring to pyramid schemes.
Rounding out this scam saga is an ensemble cast that reads like a red carpet guest list: Shaina Magdayao, Francine Diaz, Seth Fedelin, JC De Vera, RK Bagatsing, John Arcilla, Lotlot de Leon, and Tirso Cruz III, among others.

That’s a whole barangay of talent, right there.
Directed by FM Reyes and Bjoy Balagtas, and produced by JRB Creative Production, “Sins of the Father” promises thrills, lessons, and just enough drama to keep you from scrolling through another too-good-to-be-true Facebook “racket.”
“Sins Of The Father” is produced by JRB Creative Production under its business unit head Julie Anne R. Benitez.
Cenon Palomares and Dindo Perez are also part of the production team as head writer and creative head, respectively.
