Seeing how hard it is for his villagemates in Cainta, Rizal to get access to poultry products due to the enhanced community quarantine, Kiefer Ravena decided to do his part.
The 26-year-old cager, who plays for the NLEX Road Warriors in the PBA, set up a store in his family’s garage on Saturday.
Joining Kiefer was brother Thirdy, girlfriend Alyssa Valdez, and friend Adrian Wong in selling Chooks-to-Go chicken both roasted and raw — to his fellow Rizaleños.
“This our way of extending our help to the community,” said the Gilas Pilipinas skipper.
“Nakita kasi namin na marami ang nahihirapan pumila sa groceries lalo na ‘yung matatanda. Kaya naisip namin na kami na lang magdadala ng manok sa kanila.”
Having a rolling store saves the residents of either a barangay or a village from the hassle of lining up at groceries or stores to avail of either a dressed or a roasted chicken.
Seeing this, Ravena also encouraged community leaders to do the same.
“Please check Chooks Facebook page and simply message them kung ilan ang kailangan na chicken and they will happily serve your barangay,” added Kiefer.
Meanwhile, Chooks-to-Go president Ronald Mascariñas expressed his admiration not only for Kiefer bust also for the hardworking staff behind the success of Chooks-to-Go rolling stores.
