A 20-year-old student was arrested after he was caught carrying marijuana at a Light Rail Transit-2 (LRT-2) station in Cubao, Quezon City, Wednesday night.
Police Lt. Col. Giovanni Calliao, chief of Quezon City Police Station 7 (PS-7), identified the arrested suspect as Christian Salome, a resident of Marikina City.
Police report showed that Salome was supposed to enter at the south entrance gate of the train station in Araneta Center, Cubao, around 6:20 p.m. when the duty security guard frisked him for inspection.
During checking, LRT security personnel Roberto Hagoot discovered a sachet of dried marijuana leaves inside Salome’s coin purse, prompting him to immediately report the incident to authorities.
Personnel of PS-7 and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) nabbed Salome and confiscated a gray coin purse containing a sachet of undetermined amount of dried marijuana leaves.
Salome was brought to the police station and was charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (Alexandria San Juan)
