Every PBA debut is special but Yukien Andrada’s first game in the Season 50 Philippine Cup had a bit more sentiment to it.
Aside from competing in his first professional PBA match, Andrada also played alongside his coach — LA Tenorio.
“I was happy playing with coach LA. A coach playing with me, that’s a first time experience for me,” the San Beda product said after their 94-83 loss at the hands of TNT at Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.
“I just enjoyed this moment, especially since this is our last elimination game heading into the playoffs. We have to be focused on our goal and that goal is to get to the semis and the championship, hopefully.”
Andrada surely played like he wasn’t lacking any motivation, beginning his PBA career with a near double-double of 12 points and nine rebounds.
Although he struggled from the field, sinking just three of his 14 tries from the field, Tenorio still entrusted him with 24 minutes of action.
The versatile forward just came off an NCAA championship run with the Red Lions, ruling the Season 101 crown after sweeping Letran in the Finals. (PBA.ph)
