“Hindi pala baha ang magpapalubog sa ating bayan, kundi kasakiman.”

That now-viral line from Jessica Soho’s “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS)” special “Katakot-Takot na Kurakot” has captured the nation’s frustration with corruption, reminding viewers how storytelling can spark reflection, outrage, and even action.

The three-part investigative series, which examined large-scale corruption and questionable government projects, has become one of KMJS’ most impactful reports in recent years. Since its August 24 premiere, it has generated more than 92 million views across Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok, with its first episode alone reaching over 14 million views on YouTube.

Beyond television, the KMJS Podcast has become a digital force of its own. In just over a month, it has racked up more than 105 million total views across platforms — 68.3 million on Facebook, 21.6 million on TikTok, and 14.8 million on YouTube — making it one of the fastest-growing current affairs podcasts in the country.

The podcast features Soho’s full-length interviews with key public figures such as Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, Senator Panfilo Lacson, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon, and former COA Commissioner Heidi Mendoza. These unedited conversations, often more candid than their televised counterparts, have earned praise for Soho’s calm yet probing interview style — one that draws out accountability without sensationalism.

For many Filipinos, “Kurakot” was more than just another TV feature. It became a cultural touchpoint — one that helped explain how corruption seeps into daily life and why it remains so hard to root out.
