South Korean golfer Ina Yoon continues to make heads turn in the professional scene after her debut in the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) this year and she has no plans to stop.
Fresh off her stint in the AIG Women’s Open in Wales earlier this month, the 22-year-old Yoon arrived in the country to officially link up with Resort & Casino giant Solaire in promoting its brand-new, state-of-the-art golf simulator in its Entertainment City in Parañaque.
Despite a busy schedule, the current LPGA No. 43, who is also dreaming to become the face of the ever-changing sport took time to encourage the youth, especially the growing numbers of Filipina kids to embrace the sport like a religion.
“I wanted them to practice not because their parents wanted them to play, but they needed to practice because they like it and they love to play,” said the charming and sweet Yoon through a translator.
“And if they practice and follow their heart, eventually they will have a good result,” she added. “I like to hear that a lot of Philippine girls love to play and I’m waiting for them to make it on the tour as well.”
Yoon also shared that she was able to meet the Olympic golfers Dottie Ardina and Bianca Pagdangan from her previous competitions, but unfortunately they weren’t able to talk.
On Wednesday, Aug. 13, the emerging star was officially named as an ambassador of Solaire’s golf simulator. It’s a new development that would be enjoyed much by the golf elites and even the amateurs – as they will be able to play through rain or shine.
“Golf is not just about being outdoors, it’s about honing your skills and enjoying the game with friends, no matter where you are,” she continued. “I’m excited to inaugurate this fantastic addition to the Solaire Sports Club, where guests can practice and play in an engaging environment.”
According to Yoon, practicing in an advanced indoor venue is effective for the beginners as it could further help them to know what to improve and what to adjust.
“I think technology is really good and advanced. That’s why I practice here, it’s always better to practice indoors, it’s very helpful to do,” Yoon continued.
“I prefer all the beginners to maybe start practicing indoors because then they can practice more on their swing and then maybe they can have beautiful swings as well rather than starting outdoors,” she added.
SVP Resort Operations David Batchelor stressed that their new project catered to all of the players who are seeking to improve their plays in a world-class facility that offers flexible rates, real-time swing feedback, and more.
“We are committed to providing our guests with the best sports experience possible,” said Batchelor. “This golf simulator addition is designed to elevate the game for both novices and seasoned players, making golf more accessible and enjoyable all year round.”
