A woman was arrested after police recovered 18 sachets of suspected shabu from her possession — some of which were tucked between the pages of a Bible — during the recent execution of a search warrant in Barangay Bone North, Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya.
Authorities seized 15 medium-sized sachets of shabu from Mary Jane, each weighing one gram.
Three additional sachets of shabu, worth P1,020, were discovered concealed within the Bible. She also yielded a cellphone, a coin purse, and a lighter.
The search warrant, issued by a Nueva Vizcaya court, was carried out by the police along with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
During the operation, authorities noted that the suspect appeared to have swallowed something, prompting suspicions that she may have ingested additional sachets of shabu in an attempt to conceal evidence.
Her live-in partner, who was also a target of the operation, was not around during the implementation of the search warrant.
The suspect faces drug-related charges.
