Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso vowed to ensure a clean and safe Manila as he officially took his oath of office as the city’s  newly elected mayor in a ceremony administered by Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Kho, Jr. on Monday, May 19.

Domagoso noted that the early completion of his oath-taking allows him to focus on more urgent concerns affecting the city.

Beyond environmental cleanliness and safety, he said his administration’s priorities include providing decent housing, improving the quality of education, modernizing public hospitals, and creating dignified job opportunities for Manila residents.

He emphasized that his leadership will be centered on addressing the needs of ordinary Manileños and implementing solutions to the pressing problems of the capital.

“Ito ang magiging direksiyon ng ating administrasyon,” Moreno said, highlighting a governance approach that prioritizes substance over spectacle.

He pledged to ensure that the city government remains financially responsible, focusing on prudent spending rather than extravagant celebrations. “Maingat na gugugulin ang pera ng bayan,” he added.

These priorities, he stressed, reflect the “minimum basic needs ng bawat Manileño” and will serve as the foundation of his administration’s agenda. (Diann Ivy Calucin)
