The Seoul SK Knights finally rediscovered their form and averted an embarrassing sweep with a 73-48 drubbing of the Changwon LG Sakers, 73-48, in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) finals Sunday, May 11.

Playing with a sense of urgency this time, the Knights got off to a strong start and stormed to an early 26-10 lead, an advantage they valiantly protected to deny the Sakers their coronation.

Game 5 is set on Tuesday, May 13, with the Knights still trailing the Sakers, 3-1.

Filipino Juan Gómez de Liaño played for only five minutes for the Knights and was held scoreless.

After notching a five straight twin-digit scoring, Carl Tamayo was restrained to just seven points along with seven rebounds, and one assist.

Tamayo is hoping to become the second Filipino to win a KBL championship in league history after Rhenz Abando who earned the feat with the Anyang JKJ Red Boosters in 2023, beating the Knights in seven games.
