Paris Paralympian Augustina Bantiloc and Marzel Burgos claimed the bronze medal after defeating Hong Kong, 140-134, in the compound mixed event of the 2025 Asia Para Cup – World Ranking Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand over the weekend.

Bantiloc, the lone archery bet of the Nationals in the French capital last year, and Burgos recovered from a dismal start and bounced back in the final frame to snare the third spot over Chan Yuen Wah and Ngai Ka Chuen of Hong Kong.

It was the second bronze for Burgos and the Philippines as the former won his first in the compound men’s open team with Angelo Manangdang.

The Filipino pair eked past Malaysia’s Wiro Julin and Daneshen Govinda Rajan, 141-140, in their bronze-medal showdown.

Before clinching their medal, the No. 6 seed PH duo made an early statement and upset No. 3 Thailand, 146-145, in the quarterfinal.

However, they lost their momentum in the semifinal where they yielded to No. 2 India via a 150-142 decision.

The Indians eventually reigned supreme in the tournament as they beat No. 1 seed Indonesia, 150-148, in the final.
