The charred remains of Maris Bayaton were found on the second floor of their house in Barangay Bulacao. SFO1 Novo Erana of the Cebu City Fire Department said they received the alarm at 3:02 p.m. The fire spread to two other houses before it was controlled at 3:22 p.m. Investigation showed that the victim was sleeping when the fire broke out. A butane canister that exploded was reportedly the cause of fire. The victim’s mother Ernita and a 23-year-old man were reportedly injured during the incident. Property damage was pegged at P200,000.
