2 Indian traders yield P233.2-M cocaine in Laguna sting

Anti-narcotics agents seized about ₱233.2 million worth of cocaine in Calamba City, Laguna, following the arrest of two Indian businessmen during a buy-bust operation early Saturday, February 21, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported.

The suspects, identified only as “FiveSix’’ and “Ali,’’ were apprehended around 2:30 a.m. in Villa de Calamba, Barangay La Mesa.

Authorities confiscated two kilos of suspected cocaine concealed in a brown paper bag—the subject of the sale—alongside another 42 kilos found in an open carton box.

Also recovered were the marked buy-bust money, the paper bag used to conceal it, a smartphone, and the suspects’ passports.

The two face charges under Sections 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, covering the sale, distribution, and possession of dangerous drugs. (Chito Chavez)
