Vice President Sara Duterte said she deliberately chose not to discuss the Supreme Court’s ruling on her impeachment case with her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, preferring instead to focus on matters she deemed more relevant to life and the nation.

The High Court on Thursday upheld its decision declaring the House’s February 2025 move to impeach her as unconstitutional.

Duterte’s defense team said the development proved that the matter is now “closed.”

Still, the Vice President emphasized her gratitude to God, her lawyers, and the Filipino people for their support.

She also reminded her supporters to celebrate responsibly: “Don’t drink and drive.

(Joseph Pedrajas)
