Malacañang has denounced the circulation of fabricated medical documents falsely attributed to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., warning that appropriate legal options are being reviewed against those responsible for spreading the false records.

In a statement late Wednesday, Jan. 28, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said the alleged medical document being shared online “is FAKE.”

“The document being circulated is FAKE. It did not originate from any legitimate medical examination of the President and does not reflect his current health condition,” the PCO said.

The Palace assured the public that Marcos “is well, fully capable of discharging his official responsibilities, and continues to actively perform his duties.”

Marcos was recently diagnosed with diverticulitis, a condition he described as not life-threatening. Since then, he has limited his public appearances, attending only private meetings or events closed to the media.

Malacañang has repeatedly emphasized that the President remains in good condition.

The PCO added that the deliberate spread of falsified medical information violates the President’s right to privacy and undermines public trust in institutions.

It urged the public to rely only on official statements from authorized government sources and to stop amplifying unverified content.

“Appropriate legal options are being reviewed in connection with the circulation of fabricated documents and false information,” the PCO reiterated.

This week, an email and Viber message from one “Naman S. Puri” was sent to members of the Malacañang Press Corps, claiming that the President’s condition “has deteriorated severely due to drug use.”

“Key developments include the formation of a cyst and a clear signs of perforation, which could lead to life-threatening complications if not addressed immediately,” the message read.

Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said the National Bureau of Investigation must look into the fake records even without an order from the President.

“Dapat lang tingnan ito dahil hindi na po biro ang biruin ang kondisyon, kalusugan ng Pangulo. Kaya po ang NBI, alam po natin na mabilis umaksyon ang NBI para  maimbestigahan kung sino po ang nasa likod nito,” Castro said in a Palace briefing on Thursday, Jan. 28.

St. Luke’s Medical Center separately confirmed on Jan. 28 that medical test results circulating online are fake and falsified.

President Marcos, in a video shared on social media on Wednesday evening, also assured the public that he is in good health and has fully resumed his official duties at Malacañang. (Argyll Geducos, Betheena Unite)
