President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has returned to work after spending the night under medical observation at a private hospital in Quezon City due to discomfort, Malacañang said.

In a press briefing on Thursday, Jan. 22, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro said the medical observation was undertaken as a precautionary measure.

“The President spent the night under medical observation as a precautionary measure after experiencing discomfort. His doctors advised rest and monitoring, and his condition remains stable,” she said.

In a separate text message, Castro told Palace reporters that the President was brought to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City.

President Marcos last attended the 7th Bangsamoro Foundation Day at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex in Cotabato City on Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Executive Secretary Ralph Recto represented him at the awarding of The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) 2025 at Malacañan on Thursday morning.

Asked about the President’s current condition, Castro said that while they were not given details on the specific discomfort experienced by the President, there was no cause for public concern.

Castro suggested that the discomfort may have been due to fatigue.

The Palace Official said Marcos may appear in public in the coming days if cleared by his doctors.

(Argyll Geducos)
