The primary suspect in a shooting incident that killed a woman on Christmas Day in Tondo last year was arrested by the police, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso announced Tuesday, Jan. 20.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Bingber Kyle Enaje, a member of the Batang City Jail group, was presented by Domagoso to the media.

Enaje was arrested in Barangay 118, Tondo, Manila, on Jan. 19 after a concerned citizen reported a gun-wielding man going berserk in public.

Responding officers of the Manila Police District arrested Enaje and recovered from him an unlicensed firearm.

Further investigation revealed that he was involved in a shootout in Barangay 120 on Dec. 25, 2025, which killed a young woman who was visiting her boyfriend in the area.

Police said the victim was struck by a stray bullet in the shoulder, which pierced her lung. She was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Domagoso said Enaje will be charged with homicide, violation of Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code (Alarm and Scandal), and Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.

The charges will be filed before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office. (Patrick Garcia)
