CEBU CITY–With fighters from three of the most notable boxing gyms in the Visayas seeing action, the ‘Bakbakan sa Naga 5’ promises to be a slambang affair.
The 10-fight card is set on Sunday, Dec. 21, at the Enan Chiong Sports Complex in the City of Naga, southern Cebu.
No less than Naga Mayor Val Chiong graced the card’s weigh-in proceedings on Saturday morning, Dec. 20, at the city’s public plaza.
The card will be headlined by the Arlando Senoc (7W-0L, 6KOs), the unbeaten prospect of the Mandaue City-based Big Yellow Boxing Gym who will go up against Jeric Noynay (5-1, 1 KO) for the vacant World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific Youth flyweight title.
Senoc tipped the scales at 111.8 pounds, while Noynay came in at 110.9 pounds.
In the co-main event, Richard Laspona of the Bohol-based PMI Bohol Boxing Stable will take on Arvin John Sampaga in a 10-round bout.
Laspona’s stablemates Angilou Dalogdog and Datu Adam will also be tested. Dalogdog battles Dennis Gaviola in a six-round contest while Adam clashes with Kier Espere in an eight-round match.
Big Yellow’s Reycar Auxilio, Carlo Demecillo, John Dominic Ledres, and Dreams Lloyd Valdez will also strut their wares against Justine Darap, Jeriel Guisto, and Norman Rusiana, respectively.
The Mandaue-based Omega Boxing Gym is fielding in Alexander Fredriksson, who will take on the veteran Jason Canoy Manigos in an eight-round lightweight contest.
Completing the card is the four-round duel between Trestan Jay Racho and Ronie Urgel.
