Police probe grisly deaths of 2 men in Rizal

Police are investigating the grisly deaths of two men whose bodies were found in separate towns in Rizal province on Saturday, Dec. 7.

The first victim was found around 5:30 a.m. inside a cemetery in Barangay San Juan, Taytay.

Police said the man, believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, sustained a slash wound on the neck and had his left hand severed.

A knife was recovered near the body.  He was wearing a gray and red shirt with black shorts.

The Taytay Municipal Police Station is conducting follow-up investigations to establish the victim’s identity and determine the suspect behind the attack.

At 8:30 a.m. the same day, another body was discovered along Sampaloc Road in Barangay Sampaloc, Tanay.

Joggers spotted the victim lying on a grassy area with half of his head wrapped in masking tape and both hands tied.

Authorities described him as medium-built, about 5’7” tall, aged 45 to 50, and dressed in a gray long-sleeved shirt and dark gray pants.

The Tanay Municipal Police Station requested the Provincial Forensic Unit to conduct a technical investigation.

Both victims remain unidentified as of press time.

The Rizal Police Provincial Office confirmed that separate investigations are underway to determine the circumstances of the killings. (Richielyn Canlas)
