Adamson regained its winning ways and demolished University of the East, 75-49, to snap two-game slide in the UAAP Season 88 women’s basketball tournament at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Saturday, Oct. 25.
The Lady Falcons immediately asserted their might and established an early 40-14 spread right in the first half.
Adamson never looked back from there as it handed UE its eighth straight loss this season
Cheska Apag led the way with 16 points while Elaine Etang chipped in 12 to lead Adanson to a 3-5 slate at sixth place.
“We know what we’re capable of [and] we know that we could have won games that were decided by one possession. We know what we are capable of and we just take it one game at a time,” said Falcons head coach Jed Colonia.
Rachel Lacayanga stood out for UE with 20 points on top of eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals which all went to drain.
The victory should give Adamson some sort of momentum especially heading into its tough assignment against pacesetting University of Santo Tomas (7-0).
The Lady Warriors, meanwhile, tangle with De La Salle Lady Archers. Both games set Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the same venue.
Meanwhile in juniors division, Adamson turned back UST, 87-76, to force a tie at the third spot with similar 6-3 cards.
Earlier, UE (5-4) broke out of its own slump with a 72-69 victory over La Salle Zobel (0-9).
