Emilio Aguinaldo College got back into the win column with an 84-75 win over Lyceum in the NCAA Season 101 men’s basketball tournament on Saturday, Oct. 25, at San Juan Arena.

The Generals have now won three of their last four games to rise to a 4-4 record in Group B of the competition – thanks to the efforts of Nico Quinal, Aldon Lucero, Jaerolan Omandac and Jude Bagay.

Quinal scattered 18 points while Omandac logged in 17 in the win. Lucero and Bagay also helped the cause with 14 and 10 poins, respectively.

The Generals barely led the Pirates, 62-61, at the end of the third period, but greeted the payoff period with a massive 17-2 run capped off by a Lucero jumper at the 5:06 mark of the period to give them a 79-63 lead heading forward.

That proved to be enough cushion for the Generals to send Lyceum skidding to a 1-6 losing record in Group A.

Renz Villegas turned in an all-around game of 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the Lyceum loss. The troika of John Barba, Jonathan Daileg and Joshua Moralejo finished with 16 points each but to no avail.
