Reigning UCAL titlist Olivarez College and Manila Central University continued their hot streaks by besting their respective rivals in the PG Flex Invitational Tournament 2025 Quintana Cup on Monday, Oct. 13, at the Paco Arena.

The Sea Lions leaned on the clutch baskets of Bryan Manuel and Lorenzo Dimayuga to down the Immaculada Concepcion College Blue Hawks, 83-71, for their third straight win in the 9-team preseason tournament.

In his best game so far, Manuel tallied 20 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals, while Dimayuga added 15 points. Joshua Bulante paced the Blue Hawks with 23 points.

Not to be outdone were the MCU Supremos who likewise nailed their third win in a row after outlasting the San Sebastian College, 74-69, thanks to a third quarter explosion that saw them surge to a 57-46 advantage going into the payoff period.

Daniel Santelices led a well-balanced attack for the Supremos by firing 14 points, while four other teammates scored 9 points or more.

In the other game of the event backed by Smart Sports, Crane, Topflite, Hapee Toothpaste, Gerry’s Grill, Spalding, Mighty Bond and Best Options, Diliman College finally ended a two-game skid with a 77-74 win over Gardner College.

For a while, Gardner looked headed to a massive win over two-time UCAL champion after taking a 72-68 lead on a John Patrick Buena basket, but the Blue Dragons retaliated with a telling 7-0 run to regain the lead for good, 75-72.

Leonard Marana topscored for Diliman with 22 points but it was Matthew Calilong who sealed the win with two pressure-packed charities in the last five seconds.
