Akari, ZUS Coffee and Petro Gazz seek follow-up victories against their respective opponents in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Chargers clash with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the 1:30 p.m. curtain-raiser, followed by the Thunderbelles against the Galeries Tower Highrisers at 4 p.m. The Angels square off with the Creamline Cool Smashers in the 6:30 p.m. nightcap.

Akari made its title campaign felt with a hard-fought five-set win over Creamline with import Annie Mitchem showing her worth after dropping an impressive 33-point effort.

The Chargers are expected to deliver another impressive performance along with CJ Soyud and Fifi Sharma, who also proved instrumental in their first win of the conference.

But standing in their way are the Crossovers, who vowed to bounce back from a four-set defeat to the Thunderbelles last weekend.

As for ZUS Coffee, coach Jerry Yee will once again lean on American import Anna DeBeer, who delivered a jaw-dropping 37-point performance that further intensified the team’s offensive strength.

Out to stop them are the Highrisers, who hope to erase the stigma of a straight-set defeat to the Angels that saw their import Jelena Cvijovic scoring a quiet nine points.

In the other pairing, Petro Gazz expects a tough battle against Creamline with the Angels banking on the trio of Lindsey Vander Weide, Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips to fuel the team anew.

The Cool Smashers, for their part, are expected to come back strong with their talent-laden lineup composed of Courtney Schwan, Tots Carlos and Alyssa Valdez.
