The “University Series” is more than just a Wattpad phenomenon—it’s one of Viva One’s strongest franchises, with adaptations that have consistently ignited streaming charts and social media trends.

The latest installment, “Golden Scenery of Tomorrow,” arrives October 18, and all eyes are on its leads: Bea Binene and Wilbert Ross.

The pair take on Avianna “Via” Diaz and Larkin “Arkin” Sanchez, lifelong best friends caught in the push and pull of love, ambition, and the harsh realities of fame. But what has fans most intrigued is not just the story—it’s the palpable dynamic between Binene and Ross, a tandem that feels as organic offscreen as it does in front of the camera.

“I love working with Wilbert kasi maasahan siya as love team partner,” Binene said. “He cares about me inasmuch as he always asks if I’m comfortable doing some of the scenes we do and I appreciate that.”

Ross credits Binene for raising the bar: “It’s so nice to work with Bea kasi she forces you to bring your A-game. Magaling kasi siya at talaga namang gagalingan mo rin kasi nakakahiya kung hindi ka handa.”

That tension—supportive, yet constantly pushing each other to excel—mirrors the story’s central conflict. Via, an introverted architecture student, struggles under the shadow of her mother’s celebrity past, while Arkin, a film student with an easygoing charm, suddenly finds himself thrust into showbiz fame. Their friendship evolves into something deeper, but the glare of the spotlight and the weight of old wounds threaten to unravel them.

In real life, both actors reflected on the same dilemma their characters face. “Ako, personally, hindi naman siguro kailangan mamili,” Binene said. “I can still focus on my career at the same time love someone.” Ross, meanwhile, admitted: “Ako, at this point in time, pipiliin ko career… I believe true love can wait.”

The chemistry was evident when the teaser premiered during Viva’s fan convention in August, where the crowd erupted in cheers.

With director Victor Villanueva at the helm and the return of the fan-favorite “Univerkada” ensemble, “Golden Scenery of Tomorrow” is positioned as more than just another adaptation—it’s the series’ most anticipated turning point yet.
