Filipino celebrities have declared social media the new battlefield for the nation’s flood control scandal.
From crocodiles to chicharon, memes to righteous indignation, it’s clear: when it comes to issues relating corruption, celebrities are winning the social media round… and the rest? Well, all of us are just here for the popcorn.

Edu Manzano set the tone by munching chicharon bulaklak while staring down a pile of cash from the hearings.
His verdict: “Ano ang higit na nakaka-high blood? Ang chicharon bulaklak o ang pinaghirapan ninyong tax?”
He even introduced to followers Bombardino Crocodilo, his crown-wearing pet obviously meant to lampoon greedy personalities involved in the watery shenanigans.

Comedian Pokwang went full social justice mode with a side of theatrics. Mocking wealthy “nepo babies” flaunting luxury while public funds allegedly vanish, she wrote: “May trangkaso ako ngayon kaka trabaho para meron silang pang flex ng mga bongga nilang lifestyle.”
Then, switching to melodrama, she added,“Tanging ikaw ang nakakaalam kung sino ang tunay at hindi ang hangarin sa bansa parusahan ang dapat maparusahan.”

Bianca Gonzalez got real and exhausted, lamenting the extra weight taxpayers carry: “Nakakapanlumo ang pangungurakot ng buwis na binabayaran natin… pinapabigat pa lalo ang buhay ng mamamayan.”

Carla Abellana, the “Call-Out Queen,” won’t be left out. She distilled it all in one scathing Instagram story, pointing at the hearing’s cash piles: “Ayun ‘yung pera ko oh. Nakita ko na.”
