Longevity in showbiz is rare. But for Vina Morales, who has spent nearly four decades in the spotlight, staying relevant isn’t about holding on, it’s about hungering for more.
Just two years ago, Vina lived out a long-time dream she thought had passed her by: a Broadway debut in “Here Lies Love.”
“Nung nakuha ko yung ‘Here Lies Love,’ it was totally unexpected,” she recalled during Star Magic’s Spotlight Press Conference held last August 26 at Coffee Project, Wil Tower. “It was a long-time dream na akala ko, hindi na mangyayari. Pero ayun, nangyari siya and it’s such a blessing to have been granted that kind of opportunity at this stage of my career.”
The Broadway stint marked a milestone in Vina’s already celebrated career, proving that her artistry transcends borders. But instead of treating it as a capstone, she sees it as a springboard.
Apparently, she wants more of the same.
Asked as to what she hopes to accomplish in the couple of years, she quipped, “Pwedeng Broadway? Broadway ulit!”
She was half-joking for sure, but her eyes twinkled with a glint of seriousness that hinted she meant it.
This year, Vina is once again busy, headlining GMA’s “Cruz vs. Cruz” in her much-anticipated TV comeback.

“Not to brag but I’m very proud na we’re number one sa timeslot namin. It’s not easy pero kasi ang gaqnda naman talaga ng story, I mean, I get it kung bakit marami ang sumusubaybay,” she related.
That said, Vina remains committed to her first love: music.
She revealed plans of recording new songs “hopefully, next year.”
Asked about the secret to her staying power, Morales pointed not just to talent, but to something deeper: attitude.
“Of course, you have to be talented, but maraming talented in the industry. Ang sa akin, you need to have the right attitude kasi yung longevity makukuha ‘yan if you know how to work with people,” she explained. “If you know how to reinvent. If you are stuck there, wala ka na mabibigay. Ako, I never stop learning and give my best sa lahat ng projects na binibigay sa akin.”
At 49, Vina Morales is proving that longevity in showbiz isn’t just about survival. It’s about passion, reinvention, and the courage to keep dreaming bigger.
