A pregnant mother, her husband and their two children died after their motorcycle collided head-on with a van along the national highway in Barangay Bayambang, Infanta, Pangasinan, on Monday afternoon, August 25.

The victims were identified as Allan, the motorcycle driver; his pregnant wife Crisanta; and their two minor children. All were residents of Barangay Nayom, Infanta.

According to the Infanta Police, the incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. when a black Honda TMX 125 motorcycle with sidecar (kolong-kolong) and driven by Allan, struck a tree branch along the shoulder of the road.

The impact caused the driver to lose control and crash head-on into a northbound Hyundai H-100 van.

The van was driven by a man identified only as Christian.

Due to the strong impact, all four motorcycle passengers sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the nearest hospital, where the attending physician declared them dead on arrival.

The Hyundai driver and his vehicle are now in police custody.
