MPD probes woman’s death in Sta. Cruz, Manila

A woman, reportedly known to occasionally serve as a police asset, was shot dead by an unidentified assailant on Lope De Vega Street in Barangay 312, Sta. Cruz, Manila, at around 1 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21.

According to the Manila Police District (MPD), the victim was shot twice in the head, killing her instantly.

Authorities said the woman was known to work in the area as a sex worker and had previously served as a police informant.

The MPD is still investigating the incident. (Patrick Garcia)
