A barber was stabbed by a disgruntled customer inside his barbershop in Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City, on Monday, August 4, allegedly over an unsatisfactory haircut.

According to the police report, the incident occurred around 12:09 p.m. on Diego Silang Street.

The suspect, identified as alias “Eljimm”, 27, a resident of Barangay Pasong Taco, left the shop after the barber completed his haircut.

Thirty minutes after, he returned and stabbed the 43-year-old barber with a kitchen knife before fleeing the scene.

The victim was rushed to the Quezon City General Hospital for treatment.

The following day, the victim’s wife called the 911 emergency hotline, prompting an intensified manhunt that led to the suspect’s arrest at around 1:57 p.m. in his residence.

A background check using the Investigation Solution Automatic Verification (ISAV) system revealed that the suspect had a previous case of murder dating back to 2022.

The suspect will be charged with attempted murder before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, police said. (Allysa Nieverra)
