At 25, Jack Medina is living proof that dreams don’t die in the face of hardship—they evolve.
A singer-songwriter from Novaliches, Jack is currently navigating his way through the music industry while juggling the demands of school and surviving the lingering effects of the pandemic.
Originally a nursing student at Fatima University, Jack made the difficult decision to pause his studies when COVID-19 struck.

“Grabe rin ‘yung pinagdaanan namin nung pandemic. Wala talaga,” he recalls. “Kaya rin ako nag-work nun sa call center.”
It was a necessary detour, but one that made him even more determined to pursue a career in music—his first love.
Today, Jack is fronting his band Five Fingers while also performing solo.
“Comfortable rin ako na kasama ang band,” he says. “With the help of our manager, Roly Halagao, mas lumalalim ‘yung appreciation namin sa music industry.”
Formerly a reggae outfit, the band now leans into a more alternative pop-rock sound, thanks to guidance from Star Music, under which they are now signed through DNA Music PH.

Jack’s musical style is influenced by artists like Ed Sheeran, Michael Jackson, and JK Labajo.
His raw, heartfelt performances caught the eye of Halagao, who discovered him on Facebook.
“May ibang timbre ang boses niya and he has the looks, magaling din magsulat ng kanta,” Halagao shares. “So I thought of taking him under my wings.”
More than fame, Jack’s biggest motivation is family—especially his mother, who works as a caregiver abroad. “Gusto ko na rin siyang mapauwi,” he says. “Kaya gusto ko ring magsumikap talaga.”
His latest single, “Aminin Mo Na,” now streaming on all major digital music platforms, follows his band’s earlier release, “Sapantaha.”
Jack, is actually a second cousin of SB19’s Josh Cullen and nephew of actress Aubrey Miles but he’d rather not make much ado about it.
“Gusto ko rin makilala sa sarili kong abilities. Baka sabihin nakikisakay lang ako dahil sikat sila. I’m proud of them and what they’ve achieved pero gusto ko rin makilala on my own terms.”
