After more than two decades in showbiz, Jake Cuenca remains as hungry and passionate as ever.

While many would rest on their laurels after 23 years in the industry, Jake sees his journey as just beginning.

“I think what I realized about acting, in general, is that it takes twenty or thirty years to figure out acting. I am on my 23rd year now, and I feel I just got started,” he reflects, eyes set on new artistic frontiers.

Currently captivating audiences as the intense and unpredictable Ramon in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” Jake shared how he physically and mentally transforms for each role.

“I believe when you’re an actor, it’s a lot easier when you make a transformation. Once you change your body—whether it’s weight loss or weight gain—everything else follows. You feel different, and then you feel you’re on your character.”

He also has a role in the upcoming Prime Video series “What Lies Beneath,” a murder mystery.

But Jake’s ambitions stretch far beyond television and film. He’s setting his sights on the stage, eager to return to theater—a space that, for him, offers both grounding and creative reset.

“Definitely after these two projects I would like to do a film, but what I’d like to do immediately after this is theater again. After you do big projects like these, parang you wanna do something to ground you. And it helps me to reset.”

He’s also eyeing the director’s chair and hopes to write in the future—proving that his love for storytelling runs deep.

Jake may be a veteran, but his fire for the craft burns as brightly as ever.
