Rain or Shine superstar James Yap said that all is well with him and his family following their arrival in Italy amidst the global health crisis brought by the coronavirus.

Yap said they are currently on home quarantine after arriving Monday.

“Bahay lang kami, hindi kami lumalabas kasi quarantine nga,” said Yap in a telephone interview last Friday. “Pero nakikita naman namin na medyo ok na dito.”

“Dito naman bumaba na yung cases, pero siyempre ingat pa din kami. Talagang nandito lang kami sa bahay, kung matapos man kami sa quarantine, hindi naman kami lalabas na … nakakatakot e,” added Yap.

Italy is currently at No. 7 in terms of infected individuals with 234, 531.

It was last Sunday when Yap and family – in a surprise move – left for Italy because of “family matters”.

Yap was grateful that Rain or Shine co-team owners Raymund Yu and Terry Que allowed him to leave the country.

“Naintindihan naman ng mga boss,” said Yap, who requested not to go into details with his ‘family matters’ reason why he left with his family – with wife Michela and their kids Michael James and Francesca Michelle.

“Mai-settle ko lang sila dito, yung family ko, then babalik ako agad,” he added.

Yap said he hopes to return in three weeks, as he looks forward to possibly returning with the team when practice resumes sometime in July, which is the target date of the PBA.
