Buckle down to work and stop making excuses.
That’s the big challenge made by Philippine Sports Commission chairman William “Butch” Ramirez to around 500 para athletes who attended the Holistic Development Sports Seminar for Differently-Able Women Athletes held at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City recently.
“Every time you compete always bear in mind that you can also do what regular athletes can as long you have the big fighting heart where the Filipinos are known for,” said Ramirez.
“Forget the physical defect when you are competing. “As long as you have the big fighting heart, resiliency, perseverance and determination to succeed you will do it no matter how hard and difficult it is.”
Also in attendance was 2000 Sydney Paralympics and Asian ParaGames medalists Adeline Dumapong as well as table netter Josephine Medina, the 2016 Brazil Paralympics bronze medal winner, table netter Josephine Medina, and 9th ASEAN Para Games triple gold medal winner Cielo Honasan.
