Fans are in a frenzy after the teaser for “My Husband Is a Mafia Boss” dropped on March 8, offering a first look at Joseph Marco as Ezekiel “Zeke” Roswell and Rhen Escaño as Aemie Romero.

Within just 24 hours, the teaser went viral, racking up 12.6 million views across platforms.

Viewers praised the casting, saying the two actors seemed to have “stepped right out of the book.” Joseph’s intense take on Zeke drew swoons online, while Rhen’s bubbly charm as Aemie instantly won hearts.

Joseph was quick to credit his leading lady for their chemistry, sharing, “Sobrang enjoy katrabaho si Rhen,” going on to describe their pairing as “pinaka-genuine na team up.”

He added that their strong bond made every scene feel natural, noting, “I feel so safe… sobrang supportive niya,” especially during challenging moments on set.

Rhen, meanwhile, admitted she initially struggled with Aemie’s exaggerated comedic personality.

“Hindi siya madaling i-portray… ang hirap ng kailangan kong maging OA,” she shared.

As it was her first time tackling full-on romcom, she worried about delivering the humor naturally. “Akala ko… ‘Hindi ko yata kaya,’” she recalled.

Thankfully, director Fifth Solomon helped her unlock the role.

Rhen credited his hands-on approach and his wit and imagination for helping shape Aemie’s character into someone who is “sobrang funny pero hindi pinilit.”

Based on the hit Wattpad novel by Diana Marie Serrato Maranan, the series follows Zeke, a billionaire CEO secretly leading a mafia empire, and Aemie, a cheerful college student who unexpectedly becomes his wife. As they navigate marriage, secrets, and danger, their unlikely love story unfolds.

Premiering April 11 on Viva One, “My Husband Is a Mafia Boss” promises a mix of kilig, chaos, and action-packed twists.
