A sport utility vehicle driven by a 72-year-old woman slammed into the al fresco area of actor and businessman Matteo Guidicelli’s Italian restaurant in Alabang, Muntinlupa, on Feb. 8, injuring herself and two employees.
At about 3:50 p.m., the SUV crashed into Da Gianni Cucina Italiana at Westgate Hub, damaging tables and chairs.
Guidicelli uploaded photos of the accident on his Facebook account, noting, “The damage is limited to part of the restaurant’s exterior. Our interior dining area remains open, while the al fresco side is temporarily closed for safety and repairs.”
Police identified the driver as C. Alcantara, a resident of Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig.
Investigators said she allegedly lost control of the vehicle while traveling along Westgate Road, causing it to ram into the restaurant’s outdoor space.
Alcantara and two employees — Paul John Rabulan, 25, of General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite, and Rodel San Antonio, 25, of Bacoor, Cavite — sustained body injuries and were taken to the Medical Center Muntinlupa for treatment.
