BINI Jhoanna takes a stab at acting with a special cameo in Puregold’s latest Sari-Sari Stories short film, “The Witness,” a video that pays tribute to Filipino sari-sari store owners and micro-entrepreneurs.
The appearance marks a notable acting moment for the BINI leader, adding star power and heart to a story rooted in everyday Filipino life.
“The Witness” tells a gentle coming-of-age love story that unfolds over the years, capturing the changing seasons of a relationship from childhood crush to enduring love. At the center of it all is a humble sari-sari store owner—quietly present, observant, and constant—who becomes an unspoken witness to the couple’s journey.
Jhoanna’s cameo brings added warmth and relatability to the narrative, reinforcing the film’s message of gratitude for small business owners who remain essential to their communities.
Sharing her thoughts on sari-sari stores, Jhoanna said, “Importante na hindi mawala ang sari-sari store. Bukod sa pagiging very Pinoy, ito pa rin ang pinaka-accessible sa maraming komunidad. Iba pa rin yung may mapupuntahan kang malapit sa’yo.”
Puregold senior marketing manager Ivy Hayagan-Piedad echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the brand’s continued support for micro-entrepreneurs nationwide.
