New drama “House Of Lies”, premiering January 19 on GMA Afternoon Prime, puts two of today’s most dependable actresses on a collision course.
In it, Beauty Gonzalez plays Marjorie, a devoted mother, a loving wife, the kind of woman who appears to have life neatly figured out.

Kris, meanwhile, takes on Althea, her polar opposite—high-maintenance, deeply insecure, and simmering with resentment toward the sister-in-law she can’t seem to outshine.
Onscreen, it’s a battle of restraint versus rage. Offscreen, it’s refreshingly civil.

At the show’s media conference, Beauty was quick to praise Kris—not for theatrics, but for discipline. She admitted she was impressed (and slightly envious) of how Kris shows up on set fully locked in.
“Sobrang memorized niya ‘yung lines niya,” Beauty said, laughing. “Ako, bitbit ko pa ‘yung script para sure.”
Kris returned the compliment, saying Beauty’s preparation made every scene smoother and more focused. There’s no diva energy here—just two actresses aware that good drama requires trust as much as tension.

The story itself thrives on that tension.
“House of Lies” follows two women tied together by marriage and rivalry.
Marjorie is married to Paolo, while Althea is the wife of Edward—Paolo’s brother. Born into wealth, the siblings have spent their lives competing to prove who deserves to inherit Torrecampo Realty. Althea, already drowning in insecurity, finds herself consumed by jealousy toward Marjorie once they officially become family.

What starts as quiet resentment soon metastasizes into manipulation, deception, and betrayal.
The series is produced by the GMA Entertainment Group, led by Officer-in-Charge and Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, with Helen Rose S. Sese, Anthony R. Pastorpide, and Executive Producer Lenie G. Santos steering the ship.
Creative direction comes from Aloy Adlawan and Denoy Navarro-Punio, with Kit Villanueva Zapata as creative consultant.
The writing team—headed by Marlon Gonzales Miguel with writers Jmee Katanyag, Loi Argel Nova, Ceres Helga Barrios, and Meryl Bunyi—ensures the lies pile up faster than the excuses.
Veteran director Jerry Lopez Sineneng, alongside associate director Carlo Antonio Cannu, keeps the story grounded, making sure the drama feels uncomfortably close to real life.
“House of Lies” airs Mondays to Fridays at 3:20 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime, with global viewers tuning in via GMA Pinoy TV.
