Player movement continues in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) as the PLDT High Speed Hitters acquired middle-blocker Seth Rodriguez.
The team announced the development on social media late Saturday, Jan. 3, as the two-time champions seek to fortify their lineup ahead of the season.
“ALL SETH FOR A PLDT TRANSFER,” the post read. “Join us in welcoming the newest High Speed Hitter in town, middle blocker Seth Rodriguez!”
“We look forward to witnessing you adapt and grow in the team’s system and culture!” it added.
Rodriguez’s acquisition hopes to fill in the gap left by Dell Palomata, who will be playing for the Medan Falcons in the 2026 Indonesian Proliga until May.
The 5-foot-10 Rodriguez last played for the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, who were disbanded last month after a five-year stint in the league.
Before Chery Tiggo, she also saw action for the defunct Foton Tornadoes and the Petro Gazz Angels, among other squads.
Rodriguez is expected to join forces with seasoned players Majoy Baron, Mika Reyes, Kianna Dy and Kim Fajardo as the team guns for another shot at glory.
The High Speed Hitters clinched their breakthrough title in the PLV On Tour last year, then followed it up with the Invitational Conference crown. However, they fell short of their target and finished fourth in the Reinforced Conference.
