Authorities confirmed on Monday, Dec. 29, that Sherra de Juan, the bride-to-be who had been missing since Dec. 10, has been located in Sison, Pangasinan.
According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), de Juan’s family, accompanied by personnel from Police Station 5, are en route to Pangasinan to bring her home.
Officials estimate the travel time at more than three hours, with her arrival in Manila expected around 5:00 p.m.
De Juan was reported missing after she left her Quezon City residence to buy shoes for her upcoming wedding. Her fiancé, Mark Arjay Reyes, said she was last seen at a gas station along Commonwealth Avenue corner Atherton Street in North Fairview at around 1:30 p.m., wearing black pants, a black jacket, and a black shirt, and carrying a tumbler and coin purse.
When she failed to return home, her family immediately sought police assistance.
Investigators reviewed possible routes and destinations, including nearby malls and transport terminals, and later conducted a digital forensic examination of her electronic devices.
Findings revealed she had been experiencing emotional distress and financial difficulties, reportedly linked to her father’s medical condition and the pressures of wedding preparations.
Police also discovered online searches related to overdosing and medications, which they are treating with extreme care and sensitivity.
Authorities said that when found, de Juan initially refused to cooperate with responding policewomen but was eventually persuaded by personnel from the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) to reunite with her family.
Further details about her stay in Pangasinan have not been disclosed, and officials emphasized that updates will be released once she is safely reunited with her loved ones in Quezon City. (Liezle Basa Iñigo, Allysa Nievera)
