Pangasinan PNP destroys over 10,000 confiscated illegal firecrackers

The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPO) held a ceremonial destruction of confiscated illegal firecrackers, pyrotechnic devices, and improvised cannons known as “boga” on December 27, 2025, at the Pangasinan PPO Grandstand.

The event was spearheaded by the Pangasinan PPO in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Authorities reported a total of 10,906 items destroyed, including 10,806 firecrackers and fireworks and 100 mufflers and improvised cannons.

The activity was led by Police Col. Arbel C. Mercullo, provincial director of the Pangasinan PPO, as part of the intensified campaign against the illegal manufacture, sale, possession, and use of prohibited firecrackers and improvised cannons, especially during the holiday season.

The Pangasinan PNP urged the public to cooperate in ensuring a safe, peaceful, and injury-free New Year celebration. (Liezle Basa Iñigo)
