Angelica Panganiban is back.
After four years of quiet life in Olongapo with husband Gregg Homan and their daughter Baby Bean, she’s finally emerged from domestic bliss to do what she does best: act.
Her comeback? “Unmarry”, an entry to the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival.
Her partner-in-crime: long-time screen ally Zanjoe Marudo.
Her unrefusable pull? Director Jeffrey Jeturian.
“Nung nag-text siya, alam ko na gagawin ko itong pelikulang ito,” Angelica admits.

Eager to explain why, she related, “Kasi kahit noon, kaya niya akong i-guide even at my most difficult moments. So, alam ko I’m in good hands.”
She laughs recounting the day it all clicked: a text from Jeff, a message from producer Atty. Joji Alonso, a call from Eugene Domingo, and a Zoom meeting where Zanjoe’s name casually popped up.
“Ay patay, eto na,” she says, half-panicked, half-delighted.
Angelica admitted, “Maraming offers na dumating, marami akong tinaggihan pero nu’ng dumating itong ‘Unmarry’, siya yung pinaka worth it talaga.”
She then vowed, “Hindi ko kayo bibiguin sa pelikulang ito.”
The story? Adulting meets marital chaos.

Celine (Angelica) seeks annulment without losing her kids. Ivan (Zanjoe) is fighting to save a marriage on life support. They cross paths at a family lawyer’s office, hearts tangle, emotions tangle harder, and somewhere between heartbreak and coffee, healing happens.
Maybe.
Working with Zanjoe now—both married, both parents—added reflection.
“Kung dati puro kami saya, party-party, ngayon mas ini-enjoy namin yung katahimikan, yung kasiyahan na dulot ng pamilya,” Angelica says, noting how she and Zanjoe would often show each other photos and videos of their respective babies.
Directed by Jeturian, written by Anton Santamaria, produced by Quantum Films and Cineko Productions. “Unmarry” opens December 25.
Apart from Angelica and Zanjoe, it features performances from Nico Antonio, Tom Rodriguez, Solenn Heussaff, Zack Sibug, Donna Cariaga, Eugene Domingo.
