Tony Liao elected as new PNVF president

Tony Boy Liao was elected as the new president of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) on Friday, Nov. 21, in a process that lasted nearly five hours.

Liao takes over the helm from Ramon “Tats” Suzara, who served two consecutive terms.

A long-time supporter of Philippine volleyball, Liao was part of the organizing team that formed the then Shakey’s V-League, now known as Premier Volleyball League.

He has also previously held positions as board member and head of the National Teams Commission.

Other elected officers were Dr. Arnel Hajan as chairman, Yul Benoza as vice president, Otie Camangian as secretary general, Ricky Palou as treasurer and Roger Banzuela as auditor.

Completing the members of the board are Charo Soriano, Fr. Vic Calvo, Michael Angelo Vargas, Sherwin Maganda, Daniel Congo-o, Edward Lee and Ma. Socorro Calleja.
