Filipina gymnasts fail to advance in finals in world juniors tilt

Filipina gymnasts failed to advance in the individual all-around and apparatus finals of the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships on Friday, Nov. 21, at the Newport World Resorts in Pasay City.

Elisabeth Antone was the best Filipina finisher in the four-athlete PH team after finishing 37th in the all-around qualifiications with a score of 47.632 points behind top qualifiers Elena Colas of France (55.766), and Japanese standouts Misa Nishiyama (54.265) and Yume Minamino (53.332).

Her best performance came in floor exercise where she finished 26th with 12.133 points. She was 29th in vault with 12.533, 41st in uneven bars (11.366), and 47th in balance beam (11.533).

Maxine Bondoc, meanwhile, placed 93rd in the all-around (41.299) after scoring 11.733 in vault, 8.933 in uneven bars, 9.700 in balance beam, and 10.933 in floor exercise.

Jellian Bantilan was at 107th with 39.199 after scores of 11.700 in vault, 8.766 in uneven bars, 7.733 in balance beam and 11.000 in floor exercise.
