TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A P500,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the quick identification and arrest of the suspect in the Nov. 12 murder of a police officer’s wife, a well-known weaver in this city.

The Kalinga Provincial Police Office has formed Task Force Irene to fast-track the probe.

Gov. James Edduba, during the Provincial Peace and Order Council meeting on Nov. 17, approved P700,000—P500,000 for the reward and P200,000 for the task force’s mobilization—upon the request of provincial police chief Col. Gilbert Fati-ig.

The victim, Irene Gayamos, 30, wife of a police officer, was found dead inside her home at 2:39 p.m. with stab wounds.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.

Fati-ig urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information that could hamper the probe and cause unnecessary fear or confusion, particularly on social media. (Zaldy Comanda)
