Akari got back on track and crushed Nxled, 25-13, 25-17, 25-22, to strengthen its quarterfinal campaign in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Thursday, Nov. 13.

Setter Mars Alba masterfully orchestrated the Chargers’ offense, dishing out 21 of the team’s 24 excellent sets that enabled Annie Mitchem to shine once again with 19 attacks for 22 points.

Grethcel Soltones also rediscovered her vintage form, chipping in 12 points as Akari ended a two-game skid and improved to a 4-3 record.

The win also tied them with Cignal at joint fifth place.

So dominant were the Chargers that they wrapped up the match in just 75 minutes, overpowering the Chameleons with 48 kills, eight aces, and three blocks.

Nxled, meanwhile, struggled to contain Akari’s offense, failing to register a single block in 29 attempts despite its efforts to seize the momentum.

Chiara Permentilla and import Paola Martinez managed only 10 points each as the Chameleons slipped further to the bottom of the standings, absorbing their seventh straight loss in as many matches.
