How far will you go to hide your darkest secrets?

That’s the question at the center of “The Alibi,” the new mystery-romance thriller starring Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, premiering November 7, exclusively on Prime Video.

For Kim, “The Alibi” is more than just another acting milestone — it’s her most daring role yet.

“Yes, ito na talaga ‘yung pinaka most daring role na aking ginawa in my entire life,” she reiterated. Actually nagulat ako sa nagawa ko rito.”

Known for her bubbly charm and wholesome screen image, the actress takes an unexpected turn as Stella, a seductive escort and sole provider for her broken family, whose life spirals into danger after she crosses paths with Vincent (Paulo), an heir embroiled in a high-profile murder case.

In one scene that’s already generating buzz online, Stella performs a sensual dance in front of Vincent — a moment Kim admits pushed her limits.

“Medyo nakakailang siya pero dahil nga sa mga professionals kami rito e, binigay ko na ang lahat,” Kim admitted.

Kim shared that her goal was to break expectations and silence those who doubt her range.

“Medyo mahirap gawin pero gusto ko lang magpakita ng bago. Para dun sa mga nagsasabi na hindi ko kaya ang mga ganitong role. Gusto ko lang din i-prove ang sarili ko — that I can do more,” she emphasized.

Paulo, on his part, was drawn to the project’s psychological depth.

“It is very character-driven, and ngayon pa lang masasabi ko na special talaga ang dedikasyon na binigay ng mga actors para sa respective characters nila sa show.”

Rounding out the powerhouse ensemble are Sam Milby, John Arcilla, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Sofia Andres, Irma Adlawan, Rafael Rosell, Romnick Sarmenta, Lotlot Bustamante, Alma Moreno, Robbie Jaworski, Angelina Cruz, Alyanna Angeles, Ian de Leon, PJ Endrinal, Enzo Osorio, Ayesha Bajeta, Thou Reyes, Alora Sasam, Marvin Yap, Johaira Omar, Yesh Burce, and Kim Tubiano.

Directed by Onat Diaz, Jojo Saguin, and FM Reyes under ABS-CBN’s Dreamscape Entertainment, “The Alibi” promises a gripping blend of passion, deceit, and suspense — a visual showcase of Kim and Paulo’s artistic evolution.

New episodes drop weekly in the Philippines and over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
