A wave of sadness swept through social media Friday morning after TV host and Tempo columnist Kim Atienza announced the untimely passing of his daughter, Emmanuelle “Emman” Atienza.
In a joint Instagram post with wife Felicia, the couple shared: “With deep sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of our daughter and sister, Emman.” They described her as a soul “full of joy, laughter, and love,” someone who “made people feel seen, heard, and valued.”
The Atienzas did not disclose the cause of her passing, choosing instead to focus on how she lived — with courage and authenticity.

“She was unafraid to speak about her mental health journey,” they wrote, adding that her openness helped others feel less alone.
Emman, 19, was a Sparkle GMA artist and made her debut appearance with her father at the first GMA Gala Night.
Known for her outspoken and thoughtful nature, she once went viral for defending her family against online criticism, clarifying that it was her mother, Felicia, who served as their breadwinner.
Friends, colleagues, and fans poured into the comment section with messages of sympathy and love, many expressing heartbreak over the news and recalling how often Kuya Kim spoke proudly of his daughter.
The Atienza family ended their message with a quiet plea to the public: “Please honor Emman by showing compassion, courage, and a little more kindness in your everyday life.”
